114th Academic Year President’s Cup Women’s Basketball Tournament

Competition Rules and Registration Information

Purpose

The President’s Cup Women’s Basketball Tournament is organized to promote physical fitness, strengthen interdepartmental interaction, and enhance students’ basketball skills through friendly yet competitive games.

Tournament Dates

April 27 to May 15, 2026
(Detailed game schedules will be announced by the Office of Physical Education.)

Venue

Yuan Ze University Gymnasium

Eligibility

  • Each department may register up to 18 players.
  • All players must be currently enrolled students of Yuan Ze University in the 2025–2026 academic year.
  • Registration must be made by department, with a minimum of 5 players per team.
  • A maximum of 12 players may be listed for each game.

(Any team found in violation of the above rules will be disqualified. Completed game results will not be counted, and the department will be barred from participation in the following year’s tournament.)

Registration

  • Registration Deadline:Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 12:00 noon
  • How to Register:
    1. Download the registration form from the Office of Physical Education website.
    2. Submit both an electronic file and a printed copy.
    3. Send the electronic file via private message to the Facebook fan page
      Yuan Ze University Women’s Basketball Team.
    4. Submit the printed copy at the meeting held on April 22, 2026 (Wednesday).

    1. Date & Time: Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 12:10 p.m.
    2. Location: Conference Room, 3rd Floor, Health and Recreation Center

Joint Team Policy

  • Departments with fewer than 50 undergraduate female students may form a joint team with another department within the same college.
  • All participating departments must be clearly listed on the registration form and reported to the organizer for review.
  • A joint team may consist of no more than two departments, and both departments must not have registered independently within the past two years (inclusive).
  • Once approved, the joint team composition may not be changed.
  • In cases of force majeure, reapplication is only allowed after one year.

Competition Format

  • The tournament will follow a single-elimination format.
  • If teams are tied in record, advancement will be determined by:
    1. Total point differential
    2. Total points scored
    3. Total points conceded

Game Rules

  • Games will follow current FIBA Official Basketball Rules, along with tournament-specific regulations.
  • Each game consists of four 10-minute quarters.
  • Shot clock rules, timeout limits, overtime procedures, and end-of-game regulations will be implemented according to official tournament rules.
  • Any interference with games or verbal abuse will be handled by referees or the organizing committee in accordance with regulations.

Awards

  • Trophies will be awarded to the top four teams.

Penalties

  • Teams fielding ineligible players will be disqualified, with results annulled, and will be suspended from participation in the following year.
  • Any incidents involving fighting or serious disrespect toward officials or staff will result in disqualification and may be referred to relevant authorities.
  • Players or coaches ejected for serious fouls may receive additional suspension or disqualification from subsequent games.

Important Notes

  • All tournament-related updates (including schedules and rule adjustments) will be announced via Outlook notifications from the Office of Physical Education.
  • The organizer reserves the right to amend competition rules and formats as necessary.
  • Any matters not covered herein will be announced separately.
